Sudama Charitra I am starting to write Sudama Charitra, a very important episode of Shrimad Bhagwat. Efforts will be made to write as much as possible, it is a humble request to all of you that you will keep drawing attention to the errors of the story. Gentlemen, blessed is the speech which describes the qualities of God. The same hand is the true hand that serves God, the same true mind The one who sees God in everyone, the one who listens to the holy stories of God is the true ear. It is said that Gurudev is the eternal name of God, I liked one of his names very much, that is Deenbandhu Maharaj, why did God get this name? Did Lord Krishna make any poor person his friend? Shri Shukdev ji Maharaj remembered Sudama ji. Shri Shukacharya ji Maharaj had become samadhistha twice while doing it. Once in Brahma Moh Leela, second time when Sudama's context came. After parting from Gurukul, two childhood friends walked on different paths. One became Mathura and after that Dwarkadhis, the other became a great devotee of God by settling down at home. Maharaj says that Rajan is the most dear inseparable heart friend of Lord Krishna, Sri Sudama ji Maharaj. Maharaj listed so many special adjectives for Sudama that he forgot to give the basic introduction. Neither the name was told, nor the work was told, nor the abode was told, only his specialty was told. How is Sudama? Brahmano brahvittamah This son of Brahma is Brahman, the supreme knower of Brahman.

Absolute from the objects of the senses Those who remain detached are Brahmins. One whose mind is never restless is such a peaceful soul. If not satisfied even after this, Jitendriya, the one whose senses are completely under his control, has given such a beautiful introduction and when the wife has been introduced, then the opposite introduction has been given to the husband. /em> Shushila was very virtuous, but she was very poor. ? When the husband is not poor then how is the wife? Husband is a doctor and an illiterate wife is called a doctor, so why the opposite here? Friends, Bhagwat ji's formula is Daridro Yastvasantushta: The one who remains unsatisfied is poor. Sudama ji, every Satisfied with the situation. Food Prasadi was received even then, even then it was not received, even then there is something, even then it is thrown at home. >

Shusila used to worry about the house, used to worry about the needs of the house. Life of both was going on somehow. Sudama ji's only way of living  After harvesting in the fields, there was hope of earning a living by picking the fallen grains. Sudama never begged. Brahmin takes alms but does not beg; Brahminism does not remain. It was the rule of Sudama ji to do Hari Bhajan from morning to evening, go to the fields and make inscriptions. Stayed . Sometimes they were living by drinking water, sometimes by eating some natural fruits. I still believe that if I meet even after so many days, he will give me the same respect that he used to give me in Gurukul.

I always remember one thing about him. lives  No matter what happens, he never used to eat without feeding me. Today, as soon as Sudama ji discussed food, Sushila started thinking that it has been four days that there is not even a grain of food in the house. Nowadays even the fruit season is not going on. The children were distraught with hunger, somehow they were made to sleep by giving them water.

I can remain hungry, I cannot see the hunger of my husband and children. Whatever happens, the world blames me, but today I will ask my husband to go to Dwarka. Shushila said Swami – Don't you wish to meet your childhood friend ? Sudama said tell the truth debi, even today I miss her only and only for the whole day. Shushila said, Swami, at least go and meet him once – Sudama said to the Goddess When I sit for worship during the day, I close my eyes and meet him.

This meeting is enough. I have heard that Dwarkadhish is an exclusive devotee of Lord Krishna Brahmins. He respects Brahmins a lot and surrenders to him. I pray that Maharaj – Dwarka ke gaye Hari Darid Harega Piya Dwarka ke Nath ve nath of orphans haihe Nath, Jab aapko jaye to daasyati dravinam bhuri sidate te kutumbine, if you go to meet them, they will give so much money that all our poverty will go away.

Sudama said crazy! Childhood friend and today when I go to meet him after so many days, will I go to him to earn money. Karma has been mentioned –Adhyapanmadhyayanam yajanam yajanam tadhadanam prati grahashchaiva bramhyaanam naam kalayat Reading, teaching, performing yajna and getting yajna performed, taking donations and giving donations.

These are the six actions of a Brahmin. Oh Goddess, I pray to God that I never have to spread my hand in front of anyone –If you ask, you die, if you die, then those who don't die before you die O Goddess, everything in the world is achieved by destiny.< /p>

That's why I am not going to ask for anything. Shushila said Swami – Don't think that Shushila is saying this for her own happiness, I am not giving you a reprimand, but at home. I want to show the real situation –You don't want me to eat milk and sweets, I don't want you to go home Kabahu piya tuto tawa aru futi kathoti.

Sudama said, Devi, the living being is born from Karma, grows and lives on its own. Karma brings happiness, sorrow and death. That's why Goddess, I will not go with the desire of wealth. Goddess please be satisfied, today there is sorrow, tomorrow there will be happiness. It is good that the more one suffers, the more the destiny of the previous birth will be destroyed, and on this pretext one will continue to meditate on God. When  Until there is no satisfaction, all the money is useless.

Sudama ji explains to Shushila that Goddess  There is nothing more important than satisfaction. We are satisfied that Jahe Bidhi Rakhe Ram Tahe Bidhi Rahiye It is God's wish to keep the fast for two to four days, so we fast. Then they will do something or the other. Shusheela understood that if I keep talking about going to ask them for something, then they are not going to go.

Sushila changed the matter and said Swami – You say that I close my eyes and take darshan everyday in worship? Sudama said - yes – So Shusheela again said, Sir, why are you depriving me of my merit. Sudama said - Meaning? Shushila said that by visiting here, you get the benefit of virtue alone, if you reveal it, you will get more virtue and I will also be a part of it.

Because It is said in the scriptures  Husband and wife should do holy work, pilgrimage etc. together or both with mutual consent from each other  Also Dharmakarya  If they do, then both are equal partners in virtue. I wish, I wish that once you go and visit your best friend, your adorable Dwarkadhis Krishna. So that I can also get virtuous benefits.

Sudama ji became speechless, and his mind started thinking –Ayam. hi paramo labh uttamashlok darshanam Sudama ji said rightly said  , You talked about my mind, I missed him many times, I wanted to meet him a lot, then I kept thinking that don't know where he will be? how will i meet But when today you are also putting so much emphasis, then I will go. I will get the ultimate benefit of direct darshan. Shusheela said, then what is the delay? What are you thinking? Leave early in the morning.

Sudama ji said, Hey Shushila! Will I go away with a raised face just like this? Hey brother, if I go to my friend's house after so many days, will I go empty handed? There are some places where one should never go empty handed. It was only when he went that some body, Guru, Baidya and astrologer, Dev Mitra, Bad Raj, without their meeting, the work is complete.

Whenever something or the other goes to a friend's place, a teacher's place, an astrologer's place, a story, and a relative's place. Must be at hand. Sudama said that when the eyes of the Goddess go to the house, I cannot see anything. So what should I take now?

Sushila said don't worry, I will make arrangements tomorrow morning. Sudama said it is okay. Morning wife is the one who knows the nature of her husband very well. Shushila knows that it is acceptable for my husband to die of hunger, but he will never tell his sorrow in front of anyone. Even if someone asks, you will say that everything is fine in my house. Thinking that I should reach Kanhaiya, Shushila went to four different houses and met everyone. She asked for rice, brought it home and tied it in a completely torn cloth. There is not even four handfuls of rice, that's why four handfuls and four types. Sushila said to Sudama ji, Swami! Just give this small gift to your friend. For  Today Sudama ji took the first step from home to meet the Lord.

2- Devalka – Means one who takes money to worship.

3 Nakshatra – Means one who makes a living by observing astrology /strong>

5 Mahapathik One who earns money by staying outside for many months.

Sudama ji got tired of thinking all these things and fell asleep. On the other side, Dwarkadhish Lord Krishna thought that my friend Sudama is coming, he thought that such a faithful, It doesn't suit me to walk a pious and pleading ascetic.

He called Garud ji and ordered Sudama to be taken to Dwarka Puri by sky route. Friends, it is the rule of my God that when a devotee takes one step to meet me, I accept him by taking a hundred steps ahead. But when the creature takes a step back from me, I take a thousand steps back.

When Sudama ji opened his eyes early in the morning, he was in Dwarka. They run their eyes there and think that they were sleeping under the tree and here they can see beautiful palaces. When Sudama ji opens his eyes in the morning, he can see beautiful palaces and attics.

Where have I reached? Have I not died so that I have reached heaven. About the beauty of heaven  I am seeing exactly as I read and heard. But I remember everything, that means I am alive. what should i do Let's go ahead and ask someone? Sudama ji looked here and there and did not see anyone. Sudama ji called him - brother just come here – The guards came to Sudama and as soon as he came touched Sudama's feet and said Jai Shri Krishna Baba Ji. It is ordered that any Brahmin should come  He should be given full respect in our city.

If someone insults a Brahmin, a cow, a saint, then he is insulting me. those who do will be punished. The Lord has clearly said –This is a wonderful event in the world; If he jumps into the flame, I will save him,

I can save the one who drinks Calcut poison, but the one who takes the money of a Brahmin or insults them Can never save. The one who is against Brahmin is actually my opponent –Nahan halahalam manyye visham yasya pratyakshyabramhasvam hi visham proktam nasya pratividhirbhuvi.

Sudama ji asked the watchman - Brother, which city is this? I want to go to Dwarkapuri, please guide me? The watchman said laughing Baba! You are standing in Dwarka itself? Brother, if this is Dwarka, then tell me my  Where can I find friend Kanhaiya?

The watchman asked who is this? Tell me the full address? House number, street number, locality name? Sudama ji got scared  You don't know Kanhaiya? Oh brother, it is a matter of our childhood, we used to call him Kanhaiya, although his full name is Shri Krishna Chandra and he is the owner of this place.

The guards were shocked to hear the name! You are taking the name of our Maharaj? Hey Baba, do you know how many adjectives are used before taking his name? Sarveshwar, Sarvatra Swatantra, Deenbandhu, Dinanath, Rajadhiraj, Go Vipra Palak Vishwabandya Dwarikadhis Lord Shri Krishna Baba, you don't know what kind of strange name you are saying. The gatekeeper thought that God's pastimes are not understood at all? When, in what form, who should come? Are they not interested in seeing? p>

If you don't agree, it will be seen. The doorkeepers said, sir, you can't meet sir now? Sudama said why? The doorkeepers said that this is the time for Maharaj's rest. But don't you worry, my lord's order is that no Brahmin, Yati, Sanyasi, beggar should go empty from the door. Feel free to say whatever you aspire for, I will get it.

Sudama ji said brother –No Dhan Dham, Lok Laj, no shame, no desire, no hope, no unfulfilled only one desire is left in the mind, it is necessary to meet Krishna Kanhaiya The doorkeepers saw that the brahmin gods were not accepting, then said Baba, you are here. Wait, let us go and see the situation inside. If Maharaj has not gone to the dressing room, then I will ask him and introduce you to him. Baba, at least tell your name? Sudama ji said brother  Go and tell your master. Dena, your childhood friend Sudama has come to meet you.

The doorkeepers made Sudama ji sit respectfully at the door and entered the courtyard of God Gentlemen, doorkeepers. He made Sudama sit at the door and went inside the palace. Lord Krishna was playing backgammon with his consorts. The gatekeeper reaches and says with folded hands – Sir, I apologize for disturbing your comfort.

Lord Krishna said what is the matter? What was the compulsion that you had to come to our bathroom ? The gatekeeper says, Maharaj! Years have passed while serving this servant and Indradic gods have been welcomed, but today, Maharaj, the Bibhuti who is standing at your door and he is your friend  He is also telling. God says, who is such a brother? The gatekeeper says! Government ! Gentlemen, when two friends meet, life goes back to childhood memories. Sudama ji twisted the matter a lot but Kanhaiya turned around and again came to the same point and said – Friend, you still have the same childhood habits. Sudama ji said what do you mean Kanhaiya? If you have forgotten, I will tell you again – God has a clear statement that I am not hungry for material things. I don't see whatever the object may be in any quantity. Offer me letters, flowers, fruits or water whatever you can find with devotion and love, I am pleased with that.

What did you give? It is not the price but how you gave it that is important. It is not important what you said, from where you said it is very important. What was with Sabari? What did Vidurani have? What did the gopis have? All of them had love and all of them got Govind with their own hands. Kanhaiya says friend, so I say if you have brought something then give it to me?

Sudama Said you give lakhs of sermons, when I have not brought anything, then from where can I give it? God understood that he is not able to do courage? Kanhaiya said let it go! When nothing is brought, then the matter is over. But I see that since the time you came, this right hand is looking a bit bent  Is there any disease in hand? Sudama said no friend, he has come after such a long journey and he had a stick in his hand, that's why it is hurting a little. The rest I am absolutely fine. Now I will fix Sudama ji, don't keep doing    And as Kanhaiya caught hold of the hand –Swayam Jahar Kimidmiti Abhiyat Tandulan God took that rice bundle out by holding his hand. God pulled that bundle of rice from the hands of Sudama. God said in his mind, friend, I cannot live without eating this Mahaprasad. As soon as Kanhaiya pulled the bundle, four colored rice tied in a piece of cloth fell in front of him. All is not well at friend's place. Kanhaiya says friend, you have not corrected that childhood habit till today.  What habit? Tandul Keenhe

God saw that scattered rice and immediately put a handful of rice in his mouth – Iti mushtin sakrajjagdhwa dwitiya jagdhumaddetavachhrirajgrihe hastam tatpara parmeshthinah The Lord put a handful of rice in his mouth and took a vow that in exchange for this handful of rice, one world I give the happiness of empire. Prabhu took the second handful of rice in his hand and Rukmani held his hand. In the first, he donated the wealth of one world by making a resolution.

Don't know in the second. Don't donate only to me. What is their trust? That's why Lord did this, now you want to become Sudama by giving everything yourself? Or indicated by holding hand Lord, you are getting it with a lot of love, but it is raw rice, it will cause harm. Friends, today Lakshmi and Narayan's conversation is taking place in secret. Lakshmi ji says that the Lord is very pleased with the Brahmin deity — But keep in mind, this is the same Brahmin who kicked your chest.

God laughed and said, Goddess, keep in mind that if he was not a Brahmin, you would have been Even today she would not have been here, otherwise she would have been serving at Shishupala's place. This Brahmin had brought your letter. Lakshmi Narayan is being discussed in secret. Friends, Rukmani directly says that God wants to get Mahaprasad brought by the saint alone, Mahaprasad should be shared and eaten together.

How are you doing alone alone? At least two grains are available to everyone in the family? God collected that rice and gave it to Rukmani and said! Distribute this Mahaprasad to everyone. Rukmani went to distribute Prasad. After getting solitude, God asked friend, have you kept such a beautiful Prasad hidden till now? If my sister-in-law has sent Prasad for me, then she must have sent some message?

Sudama ji remembered, oh friend, you reminded me a lot, your sister-in-law had told me while coming –Do Ekadashis in one month and two fortnights, Lord Deendayal ne nitprati deeni moy Shushila got the news of sister-in-law The Lord's eyes became beautiful, Kanhaiya closed both his eyes for some time. Sudama ji felt that I had done a lot wrong, I should not have said this message to Kanhaiya? My Kanhaiya cannot see my sorrow. I ask for forgiveness from Lord, I have committed a big crime, forgive me. Here Sudama is asking for forgiveness from his heart and on the other side God is sending a message to Shushila by closing his eyes –It was to happen and it happened but now it is not like this Hoybhabhi, there is always Dwadashi in your house< /em> Wow my lord, you gave what you had to give and the recipient did not even know who gave it.

Did not see you giving but saw the bag full God gave everything to Sudama. But Sudama doesn't know. God teaches to give. Friends, the name of a poet was Rahimdas – When he used to donate, he used to bow his head down. Someone asked him!. Why do you keep your head down? So Rahim Das ji said –There is someone else to give; The donor is one Ram, the whole world is a beggar The whole world is a beggar, some big beggar, some small beggar.

Everyone begs from the same God? If God has given a lot to someone, then it has been given so that you become a giver. If God has given us more money, more knowledge, then make good use of it. King  He makes the minister who is eligible. You are God's minister, fulfill your responsibility properly, otherwise you will be dismissed. I  Donated so much? So God starts laughing that look! How much arrogance is he showing on my own object? Sometimes, while making offerings to God, they become arrogant. Look Lord, I have donated so much to you.  It is as if you are doing a favor to God.

Whoever God gives, he does not know who gave it. Sudama ji changed the context, oh Kanhaiya you Tell me something of yours, ever since I have come you are asking me. Tell me something about yourself too? Where did Kanhaiya ask? Sudama said anyway you are not even going to tell anything without asking. Well tell me did you get married? God said, oh yes, now tell me, do you make me meet directly. Sudama said wow this is a good thing.

God called Rukmani and said inform everyone in the house to come and take blessings from the Brahmin deity. Take . Rukmani ji sent the message. Sudama ji took the seat, Rukmani ji came and saluted – Sudama ji raised his hand and blessed  Saubhagyavati Bhava Patipriyabhav Putravati Bhava.Blessed a lot. Rukmani went, Satyabhama came — Maharaj Pranam  Sudama ji looks at Kanhaiya with surprise and asks brother, who is this? God smiled and said Baba, she is also our wife. Bhava He then looked at Kanhaiya – Who is this? God said, don't ask again and again, everyone who has come here now is the same. Sudama said, how much is ten, is it twenty? God said friend, now what will you do with counting, now everything is coming in front, count yourself. Sudama thought ten would be twenty and how much would it be? Diya Saubhagyavati Bhava Putravati Bhava 100-200 happened  By then Sudama ji's throat started drying up, further blessings and small Sobhagyavati Bhava Sudama ji got tired while reaching 500, now blessings and small Bhav Bhav . Sudama ji stopped raising his hand while reaching thousand. em> It is just the beginning, in total there are 16108. Sudama said, then the name of Ram will become true while giving blessings. This Kanhaiya, you come in everyone's place and bow down to me, everyone will get blessings together. Kanhaiya said yes it is fine. Friends, God bowed down to Sudama and Sudama ji blessed everyone together with Muktakant. Did it and could not invite you, then complain as soon as you come. You have done so many marriages that you did not remember your friend even in one? Kanhaiya said what should I tell friend &8211; All of them got married directly, somewhere they had to be brought after fighting, somewhere they had to be rescued. What should I tell  Ladies queued up, but the residents of Dwarka longed to go to the wedding procession. Sudama ji became very happy after hearing this. And said friend, now allow me to go home. Sudama ji did not tell God about his poverty, so God also did not tell Sudama about the gift of wealth.

Sudama started preparing to return to the village the next day. Sudama said friend  , We will go home now. Kanhaiya said that friend would have stayed for two to four more days. Sudama said no friend, your sister-in-law will be waiting for me, her rule is that she does not eat until I eat. As long as I am out of the house, she fasts. She doesn't eat without eating my food. Here God also knows that even after getting all the glory, Sushila is sitting on a fast that until she sees her husband's face, she will not take food, let alone water. Will go God has decided that I don't want to be biased. God said it's okay friend as per your wish. Sushila had sent it because Kanhaiya would definitely give something or the other, the children would be fed for two to four days. But Kanhaiya neither gave me nor discussed anything. Sushila and the children will be disappointed when I go back empty handed. so what to do ask for something No, no, it is not right to ask. Similarly, different thoughts are coming in the mind of Sudama ji.

Suddenly Sudama ji's eyes fell on the clothes he was wearing and he decided to go on the way. I will sell this royal dress and buy some gifts for Sushila and the children. Gentlemen, today a small sprout of greed has accumulated in Sudama ji's heart, my God has tightened the test and said that Rukmani must have come after washing Sudama's clothes, bring it and give it to him. Sudama ji should remove two more royal clothes.

It will not look good on them. Why friend? Sudama said yes – Yes friend rightly said - friends, today devotees and God are stuck at their respective places. Lord  It is said to the devotee that you will have to ask, I will not give anything without asking. The devotee says to God, if you want to give, then I will not ask. Sudama ji wore it and left, God came to take him to some distance. Sudama said friend, now let me go, you also go back. Kanhaiya said it is okay baba  good greetings  Say hello to my sister-in-law as well and next time bring her sister-in-law with you.

Sudama ji started walking, God didn't even give him farewell dakshina  Now Sudama ji is thinking while walking. Friends, if there was a desire to get money in Sudama's mind, then it is natural that the thing that is desired in the mind, if that desire is not fulfilled, then anger is born. Anger is born in the incompleteness of desire.

But Sudama had no desire in his mind, only to get darshan. Sushila had the desire for money. That's why Sudama did not have any ill will in his mind. Some ignorant people say that Sudama kept abusing God while returning. We have to tell them to pick up Bhagwat and read what Vyas ji writes – क्वाहं दैरिद्रः पापियां क्व क्रिष्णः श्रीनिकेटनः** ब्राम्ह्यबंधुरिति स्महं बहुभ्यां परिरम्भितः

Sudama ji is thinking on his return, where are poor poor brahmins like me, fallen brahmins and where else? Is Dwarkadhis Lakshmipati like him? But blessed! People refuse to recognize their parents after getting high status. But was he only my childhood friend? But how did he run and lift me in his arms? Blessed ! No one else can do this except Shri Krishna. People don't even look at the poor and he has respected me so much by being Lakshmipati.

I also know this. Why didn't he give me the money? On the way, Sudama ji is walking remembering the good behavior of God. The Govind who did not give me money, and what will I do with the money? May my Govind's blessings remain on me, this is enough for me. Thinking all this, Sudama ji reached home.

Now they have come home but they can't see their hut anywhere. Big palaces are visible in place of the hut. Sudama is surprised whether I have come to another place? I am feeling that I have reached Dwarkapuri again? But how can this happen? Sudama ji is going round the building, where is my cottage? The cottage is gone, but where are my wife Sushila and my children? Where do I find them now?  Till then the eyes of the servants fell on Sudama ji and saw that Sudama ji is completely disoriented. He thought that he would go and inform Sushila.

Do they look confused? Sushila peeped through the window and jumped with joy as soon as she saw it!! Oh come on, let's prepare for the welcome, my. Swami has come.

Sushila ji dressed up and decorated the Aarti plate with sixteen decorations went to receive Sudama ji. When Sudama ji heard the hailing of his name, he became more nervous. I think I went to Dwarka there and here some king named Sudama destroyed my hut and built his palace? But who is this debi?

Sudama ji went and stood in a corner. Suddenly Sushila ji stood in front of Sudama ji and started rotating the aarti plate. Sudama ji asked! Goddess who are you? And why are you doing my aarti? Sushila said wow, Maharaj forgot his wife after meeting his friend. As soon as Sushila's words fell in Sudama's ears and his gaze fell on her face –Patni Vikshya Visfuranti Devi Vaimanikimivdasina Nishkakanthinam Madhye  Surprised like this Sudama is surprised, oh Sushila, where did you get such a beautiful saree, where did you get the jewelry? "> Sushila started laughing & 8211; Wow sir! So your friend didn't tell you anything? All these miracles have been done by your friend Dwarkadhis. Now Sudama ji understood - Oh Sushila, my Kanhaiya is actually Ghanshyam.

Megh's name is also Ghanshyam. Both keep showering their blessings. But they never think that anyone should know what I am doing. His grace is not received for praise. Friends  Those who are introspective know that God's grace is taking place, but the living beings who are asleep in the trance of obedience cannot experience that grace.

Friends There is no end to demands, there is no end to desires. If we want to become, then we should become like Sudama. If you want to learn then learn from Sudama ji. Earlier there was nothing but still happy - today  Everything is the experience of God's grace. God proved Sudama's superiority by giving him Sudamapuri like Dwarika Puri and made his deenbandhuta meaningful.

Spiritual History

Sudama Temple is one of the revered sites of Gujarat. This temple is dedicated to Sudama who was the childhood friend of Lord Krishna. This temple is often visited by thousands of devotees particularly the newly married Rajasthani Kshatriya couples who visit the temple to take the blessing. Located at the centre of Porbandar, it is one exceptional temple in India which is dedicated to this great devotee of Lord Krishna.

Sudama Temple was constructed in 1902 and 1907 at the centre of the city. It is one of the historically significant sites in Gujarat. The construction of the temple was hampered to some extend by the depletion of the funds. As the money was less it was raised by collecting donations and organizing dramas to raise the fund. All the rich traders contributed funds which can be used in the construction of the temple. Though the architecture is not too lavish yet it is one of the well-built temples of Porbandar which is often visited by thousands of tourists and devotees. Built with white marble this temple has a number of carved pillars which decorate the temple, open from all sides this temple has a shikhara which is decorated with splendid architecture and carvings. These carvings are also visible above the pillars and the arches which adjoin the pillars. With such architecture this temple is dedicated to the shrine of Sudama which is built in simple structure.
